Frequently Asked Questions
Addressing the Questions That Matter
Insurance & Payment
Is my insurance plan supported at your office?
Absolutely. Our office accepts a wide variety of dental insurance plans, including Cigna, Delta Dental, MetLife, and others. Visit /insurance or call (512) 858-6987.
Are there alternatives for patients without dental coverage?
That’s no problem. Our Gloss Dental Membership begins at $25/month and includes preventive services and savings on additional dental care.
Is financing available for treatment costs?
Yes—qualified patients may take advantage of payment and financing options through dependable partners such as CareCredit.
Checkups & Treatments
What’s the recommended routine for dental visits?
A six-month interval between dental visits is typical. Catching problems early can lower treatment costs, though visit timing is adjusted per patient.
How often should I brush my teeth for best results?
Brushing two times a day is an ADA recommendation. To help preserve enamel, wait around 30 minutes after acidic foods or drinks before brushing.
Electric and Manual Toothbrushes Compared
With proper use, either option is effective, but research favors electric toothbrushes for superior plaque reduction. Sonicare and Oral-B designs help clean challenging areas.
What age is appropriate for a child’s first dentist visit?
Children may begin dental visits by age 3, or whenever they’re ready for an exam. Early care helps us monitor progress and establish positive dental habits.
How should I take care of persistent breath odor?
Many instances of bad breath stem from plaque buildup, gum disease, or bacteria. Managing it can include cleanings, tongue hygiene, flossing and rinsing, and reducing spicy foods. Persistent odor should be examined.
What is meant by wearing a night guard?
A night guard is a custom-made, transparent appliance worn during sleep to minimize grinding, clenching, and jaw discomfort.
What are my restorative options for missing teeth?
We offer both fixed restorations, such as implants and bridges, and removable solutions like partials and dentures. Fixed options deliver the closest feel to natural teeth, and we’ll help you choose wisely.
How do dental implants attach to replacement teeth?
Implant placement follows a two-step method. A titanium post is placed in the jawbone, then topped with a crown, bridge, or denture. Implants are built to look and function like real teeth.
What signs suggest gum disease may be present?
Common indicators include bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and loose or sensitive teeth. Gum disease often develops without pain, making routine visits essential.
Should patients worry about dental X-ray safety?
Yes. Today’s dental X-rays rely on digital imaging with minimal radiation, significantly lower than daily sunlight, combined with strict safety procedures to protect you.
